Why use Vic as your
consultant?
It’s simply a matter
of capacity and efficiency.
Frequently, when special projects, challenges or issues
arise, the easiest answer is to throw existing staff at the problem. The
question arises whether this is the most efficient use of their time.
All of Vic Barkin’s service offerings are based on years of
real-world experience from multiple points-of-view. This in itself increases
productivity and allows management and staff time to concentrate on their core
objectives.
Most organizations have needs that require specialized
skills, but which are not sufficient in scope to justify a full-time employee.
Vic lets you achieve the efficiency of having an expert on
staff for a short period of time. Being skilled in multiple disciplines, he can
offer wide-ranging expertise and experience that crosses many boundaries.
Sometimes a staff person may not be able to act freely or effect lasting change because
of perceived power issues or hierarchical constraints.
As an unbiased and objective resource, Vic can solidify team
synergy in a non-confrontational atmosphere which exponentially increases the
chances for success.
Vic’s Seven Principles of Consulting:
-To bring temporary or on-going expertise that supplements,
not supplants, your staff.
-To help with a special need; to do the specialized work.
-To provide expertise that you don't have and…
-To deliver quality that you might otherwise not be able to
afford to hire.
-To provide confidentiality or to inject an objective voice.
-To be the "outside expert". Sometimes the perception is, that's the only opinion that counts.
-To see the situation through fresh, impartial eyes,
without the filters or preconceived notions.
